DSMs run 6.5 inch wide wheels. All cheaper aftermarket wheels are 7 inches and Related Question: In 'stock' classes, why do the rules allow many shock and tire choices, yet limit wheel size to stock?

Probably because shocks and tires are normal wear items; wheels are not. I don't know about the cheaper part; this would depend on the car. I found a used set of OEM alloys for my '91 Miata for $225.

class same with the Type R. its wheels are 15x6. 15 inch aftermarket wheels are all 15x6.5 or 15x7. if you are lucky enough to find 15x6 wheels, they will end up with the wrong bolt pattern or not e

I could be wrong (don't own a Type R myself), but I think OEM Mazda Millenia wheels are the same size as those for a Type R and easier to find. Scot '91 CS Miata - no trouble finding OEM wheels here!

That is true. I learnt that from Kevin "Mazda wheels" McCormick. Honda CRV and 92/93 MR2 wheels also fit the Type R. jmb
