- I have read the 1275s varied over the years...is there particular years/numbers that are better candidates for transplant into a bugeye??? Are all ribcase the same??? Thanks Jerry G 59 BE

- 1275s have varied over the years. The first 1275 was a 12cc block, thin flanged but with a EN40B nitrited crank, THE crank most sought after. Next was the 12cd block, thicker flange, EN16 crank, tuff

- Hi Jerry, Sorta, there are at least 3 sets of gears and ratios, but the later ones were the best. Beyond 12CE engines. None had 1st gear synchro. Paul A

- Nicely but not that nicely as the carb to hood/bonnet clearance is critical unless you bulge it. You need the Montego Turbo plenum chamber if you plan on fitting an intercooler and this go for a prem
