The chome nuts on the wiper wheelboxes won't come of on my '71 B. Two won't turn without extreme prejudice. The third is turning but not coming off. Seems the sleeve it is threaded on to is spinning.

Larry and Glen, thanks for the guidance. Now I don't feel so bad for buggering up the chrome on the nuts. The CFO(wife) was thinking of having me committed as she saw me in the garage turning one nut

I wish I would have cut mine off. I used a nice big wrench and they came off just fine. Unfortunately, they took the threads off of the wheelbox pipe with them ... what a pain :) ~alan '71B Reply to:

Paul et al: MG wiper wheel nuts were the bane of my existance as a dismantler. The problem is that they are very soft brass. Any crush by a wrench will cause them to seize on the threads. Add to that
