John, Did mine over the winter. The hardest part is getting it out and even that's not too difficult! A local guy who stocks 30+ veneers advised me that contact cement is the recommended adhesive. To

I seem to remember hearing that the original veneer was "French Walnut"? At any rate, I went to a local wood shop and got a sheet of regular walnut. Like Steve, I used contact cement and had no issue
