I'm trying to figure out which is the non-original part in my car, the engine or the transmission. The engine number is 18V585ZXXXXX, which would lead me to believe the engine was originally mated to

Scott, I think you are correct your engine was originally mated with an OD transmission. But who knows which is correct for your car. I think the 1280 speedo is the correct number for the non OD car.

I suppose you could have both the wrong engine and transmission in your car, but my 74B has the correct engine number for the non-overdrive trany which is attached. I too have an overdrive switch bu

My speedo also has the 1280 at the 5 o'clock position. I believe this is the revolutions per x distance (I'm not sure what the distance is) of the speedo shaft. Since my engine number is correct for
