- Hello all, What years did the rubber bumper models of MGB GT's come out. I am curious because in the book "How to give your MGB V8 power, it says the best years are from '73 on. Anybody have any view

- 1974.5, not too many of these here in the USA. I'm not sure the "best years" are from 1973 on. Starting in: 1968 the transmission tunnel is larger 1974.5 under hood area is modified to accept a V8 19

- Chris the problem with books, you dont know who or what thay know. I am the dumb old mech. that has done V-8's for 16 years. the rubber bump. cars have the changed eng. bay, the late 76 have the pane

- They maybe said 73 because that is when the factory V8 came out. But as has been said elsewhere the 4-cylinder did not adopt the V8 cooling system (and hence its body changes) until 77, by which time
