How did you verify all of this info? What I'm saying is, I have an electric fan on my '78 Midget, and it "seems" to work ok. It has an adjustable mechanical sensor that feeds down into the top hose

I too agree that an electric fan is usually not neccessary. If your car is set up and maintained properly, you should not need to make any modifications for cooling. I have an excellent tech article
