FOT experts. After 50 years racing 4 cyl Triumphs, I have a problem that I don't understand. At our last race meet at Fontana, Preston noticed that we had approx 1 quart of radiator water in the oil

You know Ken, this is kind of impossible. The only way water can get into the catch oil breather tank is 1) if it comming from the internal parts of the engine or 2) Surrepetitiously. If the catch oi

When your oil gets hot enough you just don't get that much mayo in the valve cover, if any, and you won't see water in the sump unless you leak is gross and happens while the engine is idling. It cou

An exorcist is a nice idea, but it's not impossible at all. My oil temp gets up to about 235 during a race. I know Ken's motor is probably being pushed very hard and gets equally as hot. There will b

I have that same "mayo" color in mine on occaision. Did Ken say there was no indication of that stuff whatsoever? I have used two different valve covers alum and stock but, both seemed to show it. Mo

Michael, Now there is a solution I had not thought of. Yes, we have 2 breathers in the lower half of the engine & 2 out of the cast valve covers.

All depends on hot stuff gets. You won't have mayo if the inside of the cover gets over 212--the water boils away and leaves the oil clear again. Sometimes you'll see little traces inside the oil on
