I'm just curious about why there is a circular hole in the rear brake drums? It seems silly to put rubber boots on the emergency brake levers and then have an open hole in the drum. Monte 79B, Carmin

Frequently you will find a circular metal plug blocking this hole. But just as often, you will not. I don't know if it really matters (this hole is a moving target, as opposed to holes in the backing

I've got a rubber plug in my hole. Uh... that doesn't sound right. Moss number 181-975 is a rubber bit that goes in that hole for the drum brakes in a '77 Midget. Just bought one last week. as often,

On my MGB, at least, the adjuster is a stud sticking through the backplate, near the top. You must be thinking of another vehicle. Anyway, adjuster access holes are generally through the back plate,

Well, I figured you were thinking of one of those. I guess it doesn't matter if the hole is in the drum, because when you adjust the brakes, you always have the wheel off the ground, anyway. And the
