Well last night while putting it back together I broke one of the exhaust manifold studs. There is about 5/8 inch left sticking out of head. Is there an easy way to extract this. I loaded it up with

The easiest way is to buy a stud extractor. This looks like a socket, but has several cams inside that lock onto the stud. hey come in different size with little latitude for diameter. They work gre

Heat with a torch, then grab the stub with a tight Vise-grips, and twist it back and forth, then out. They come out pretty easily with heat. --David C.

Try tightening on the first round and then try loosening? Drag out the MIG welder and weld a nut on the stud, or what's left of it. That produces enough heat (usually) to break things loose. If that

After everything else fails and the stud is now broken off flush with the manifold, get a proper size left hand twist drill bit and start drilling. They usually spin out before you drill through... K
