As long as the excess oil drains out of the holes at the bottom of the main piston then it won't do any harm, but neither is it lubricating anything except the upper cylinders. But getting oil on the

I failed to mention in my previous post that the TD owner who called Car Talk (NPR) last week didn't even know there was supposed to be oil in the carbs. (He was a relatively new owner of the car.) C
