Just a shot in the dark -- are the washers missing from the filler caps? They probably cause enough friction between the caps and air chambers to keep the caps from turning, along with some vibration

I had the same problem. I removed the fiber washers so the caps could screw further into the carb body and they don't come out any more. Good luck, Adrian. = g loose on their own!! I just tightened
