I will be converting my '54 TR2 based Devin to front disk brakes. I hear that the TR4 brakes are the way to go because of the lighter calipers. Basically, I reed to aquire all the parts to do this a

I use the TR4 calipers and rotors on my TR3. I have been using Porterfield R4 compound pads and have done well with them. I would stay away from drilled rotors, since the drilling makes them prone to

On the pad material, I've been very happy with the Carbotech Panther Plus pads. Nice stopping power, easy to modulate (no unwanted lockup) and they don't seem to need to be warmed up like the Hawke B

I agree with Tony on the Panther Plus, a good race pad. Maybe it's my rotors, but every time I change the pads (they seem to last 3 to 4 events) I need to have my rotors resurfaced. Tony, are you run

Two years on a set of brake pads? Geez, no wonder you are so fast. Oh, wait... I'll bet you are not running Girling calipers! ;-)

Oh yeah, almost forgot. They may last longer in the 4 pot Toyota calipers... Still, one of the secrets to going fast is minimizing the brake usage, I suppose. That's not one of the things I really co

It's certainly true--fast corners are harder to accelerate from. The best way to win races is to go through them very fast and use up every last bit of the track. There are trade offs in slowing more
