A clogged cat converter caused a cast iron exhaust manifold to crack on a hundai. It was the increased heat and presure. But, then again, it was a hundai and they were built to self distruct. Chris R

The guy who worked on my 1980 MG stated that ALL MGB manifolds WILL enventually crack and that it is only a matter of time. I'm curious to know what experience you all have had. Does this statment pr

It is true, all MGB manifolds will crack, as long as you drop it off of a tall enough building. But seriously, I have never heard of this problem, know of no reason why it should be true, and belive

Yes, late model, single carb, cat.conv. manifolds are very prone to cracking. Now if all of them will crack is not known, but dont be surprised if it happens to you. The Cat. Converter and manifold g

Have had 3 different B-GTs with a total of over 200,000 miles and never had one crack yet. They've been driven in temps as high as +105F and as low as -50F (with wind-chill)! Maybe if the manifold bo

I just read Genn Schnittke's post on manifolds cracking between #'s 2 & 3 plug and completely agree. Since purchase in 71, my B has consumed at least 2 manifolds. The cracks are always between plugs
