The TD manual states "Shell S.A.E. 20" and others for all conditions. Engine oils are listed as 10, 20 or 30 depending on temperature. The MGA manual states "Shell 20W" and others for all conditions.

I've used automatic transmission fluid in the carbs and it works great. If you use regular motor oil, you might want to think about using something just a bit lighter than a 20w50. Dennis '73 Midget
