Maybe. Maybe not. I can't imagine the manufacturer not testing for that, or selling the thing (for very long, at least) if it really did any damage to on board electronics. (Can you say, "lawsuit"?)

No I saw it go off while attached and the field was very contained to the bar, Keep in mind a newer mustang has a whole lot more electronics than a roadster and he had cd player and amps running too.
