That depends on which two you removed. There are two bolts that attach the distributor base to the block. If it was these two, the issue could be that a strong gasket sealer was used under the mount.

Move the timing to 16 and hookup a timing light and stop moving the distributor when the light flashes. Crude but accurate enough to start. There is no restrictor the tube serves as the restrictor. M

Did you install a new rotor cam stamped 7.5 in the rebuild distri.? If you did, you have to be sure it is not 180B0 out. If it is 180B0 out, your rotor cap is pointing the opposite direction and you
