The engine mount carriers, mounted on the car's frame, are slouted. Are the mounts to be centered in these slouts,or is there something I am missing or do they serve some other purpose? R. Sexson 74.

I just went through this and I found I had to bolt the mounts to the engine first. The LH side mount to support bolts are a bit fiddly to get in if the manifold is still in, but there's no way I coul

Unless your car has rubber bumpers, that engine should fit. If you have chrome bumpers and the engine won't fit, then either the engine is not a '72, or the front plate has been changed before.... I
