drill out the rivets with a 1/8 bit. After removing 1, put a nail or something in the plate through the hole, so when you drill out the second, it down't spin around like a fan. try to use a good sha

I have a friend who mig welds a bolt to the hesd of the rivit and pulls it with a slide hammer. Haven't tried it yet. John

I just did this yesterday on an 18V engine. I used a small chisel with a light hammer to loosen the rivets (hit them on a couple of sides) and then a pair of pliers/vice grips to twist them right out
