- You can easily put a filter before the pump but there should already be a screen prefilter on the pickup in the tank and it is highly unlikely that this would cause an SU type pump to fail. There is

- Hi John, My '75 MGB had a fuel line about a foot long that connected the pump to the fuel tank. If yours is similarly fitted, any of the in-line filters would fit in there. It seems a good idea to me
