Hey all you racing and safety types, where is the preferred location and mounting for a fire extinguisher and battery cutoff switch in an MGA? I assume for racers there are rules regarding these and

It varies. Most put the cut off switch on the cowell where it is easily available from the outside. Fire extinguishers are placed in various spots. Mine is bolted to the floor directly under my legs

If yiyu are racing first check with the sanction body rule book. Otherwise you should have a cutoff switch within reach of the driver while siting an strapped in. You may also need one on the outside

I would not buy two extinguishers but rather a fire system, i.e. a bottle with lines to the cockpit, the engine compartment, and the fuel cell, with a pull cable where you can reach it no matter what
