- James, it sounds like you may be running too rich with the new carbs. What needles are fitted (3 letter code)? Paul Tegler's site has good info about this. You will have to 'enrich' (thinner needle)

- Hopefully you managed to check the needles in the carbs last night and found that they are ABT (standard). For use with K&Ns a good starting point is to use AAQ needles. These have the same diameter

- Checked my needles - they're AAU needles. The springs - what springs are we talking about? I only took notice of the giant springs in the dash pot (im still not sure if Im getting these names right).
