sounds more like a burnt out light bulb... check them all... (take out bulb, clean, replace... if no light still, replace with new bulb, and clean socket) Have you got hazards? Do they work? -Malcolm

That is a fairly widespread practice (even TRs), for the obvious reason that it tells the driver that a bulb has failed. Usually however, the internal turn indicator light stays on and does not blink
