I used two jacks to do this with no problem. I jacked up the car and then put a sissors jack under the pan on one side, unscrewed the bolts and then slowly jacked the pan and spring down with no prob

As Larry has said 'No', and 'No'. I haven't removed the spring pan get the spring out myself, I removed either the upper or lower fulcrum bolt instead. I did this with the pan jacked up enough to cle

That's the way it is on the MGA and TD/TF. I wasn't sure of the B as it's suspension is an assembled unit with the front cross member because of the unit body suspension. <<<Snip>>>

I've done it both ways. As you may recall, I played "musical springs" last month, in adjusting the B's front ride height. Lowering the pan has the advantage of not having to disturb much of anything
