If it is original, that sounds like the SU fuel pump. The original one would be back there in that area. My car did not have that. When I replaced it, I just put on another aftermarket cheap fuel pum

Well, I never had an original SU on one to look at. I also have a '70 B with a different fuel system than you. I looked at the MossMotors website and there are several bits in your fuel system that I

Sounds like your fuel pump. There could also be a fuel filter but usually you find that under the bonnet (hood) near the carb. Do you have the Zenith Stromberg Carb? Anyway, it could be an after mar

I recall a similar experience long ago; it was night and raining. The '75 and later cars have fuel pumps mounted half-way into the trunk; older cars have them mounted in what would be the area of the

The electrics end of the fuel pump is in the boot, but the petrol end is on the other side of that panel, which isn't all that far from the position on chrome bumper cars - albeit higher and further

Thanks to everyone who responded! The mystery device turned out to be an aftermarket fuel pump. It looked like a heavy duty fuel filter until I saw the electic leads on it. Upon closer inspection, th
