Jeff, I just put a tiny bead of RTV on the side that mates to the valve cover, let it setup for a little bit, then bolt it down. never had a leak, and the RTV makes it real clean to pop the cover of

I use black RTV to seal it to the cover. Lrt it dry one day. Then come in and coat the inner edge and head mating surface of the gsaket with the RTV. Let dry one day. When you install this integral
