They definitely do stretch. Quite often. Only one adjustment I know of. One section assembly with the center cable,grease fitting, and all as one. Alan

Steve Yes the cables do stretch, especialy after 39 years. They usually last 20 years before the are stretched out. New ones are available but the new ones (made in Asia, sold in the US for the Briti

Steve! List! The bracket holding the adjustment end for the cable attached to the axle housing was bent/stove in and when I straightened it out my brakes were applied with the lever only halfway up.

I would add that if the rear drums (I suppose shoes too) are badly worn even a new and fully adjusted cable will leave you with excessive travel. Daniel
