I can't help you with the temp gauge- all of my British cars use the ether vapor pressure type. As far as the overflow goes, if you have filled your radiator to the very top, the car will belch some

David, I don't think hot water is getting to the top tank of the radiator. I suspect the thermostat is stuck closed. The temperature gauge may not be working as well which would surprise no one. Firs
