That probably varies a lot depending on your skill set. To turn the problem around, you can buy molded hose that is 1/2" on one end and 5/8" on the other - usually even with right-angle bends molded

Mark, at the stores I looked at all they had was what they called splicer unions where both sides were the same size. Like I mentioned Kragens has plastic or nylon but I want metal if I can find it.

Before I switched back to stock, I ran into the same problem. Finally a plumber friend took same scrap 1/2 and 5/8 copper pipes, inserted the 1/2 into the 5/8 and then soldered it well. Left about 4
