The original drum screws were pozi-drive. Usually they've been pretty well chewed up by folks using phillips head screwdrivers. So, when you finally get them off, go get some decent phillips head one

On the hood. You can loosten the two screws that hold the fenders to the front core support, and spread the fenders wider. Mine was off enough, I had to remove the screws entirely and slot the holes.
