I have a 66 Mk IA tiger with a 289. If I keep moving and the temp. outside is below 80 degrees F, the engine runs about 170 -180, which I guess is OK. But If it gets above 80 F out, and I hit stop &

Undoubtedly, doing the List's "full Monty" will cure your problem. However, it sounds to me from the symptoms you describe that the radiator per se is OK. If you run 100-110 F below ambient, I'd say

Suggest you check out the local AutoZone for a 15" Flex Fan off 1/2" of the outer lip if you have clearance problems with the Rack. Suggest making a thin cardboard templet to indicate the trim area.

Anytime I have overheating problems my first response is to replace the pressure cap. In the past I have made the mistake of assuming water pump problems when it was really just a worn out pressure
