- Try filling iyt with ice and shaking it awhile. That'll often knock off a lot of loose stuff. Motorcycle shops sell a tank cleaner and sealer kit called Kreem that may then suffice.

- Check your yellow pages and see if you have a franchise place called Redi-Strip. They do electronic rust removal. Works just the reverse of electroplating. I've taken stuff to them and it comes back

- Most sealant failures are not caused by attacks from the contents of the tank, but rather by improper bonding to the surface. That's often caused by insufficient cleaning of the tank, but not always.
