I've got a 2001 Kia Sephia that has half an igintion key stuck in it. It's somewhat deeper in the lock than I can get at with a pick or some such to pull out. So i've taken the steering column apart

Did you take the lock out of the column? If you can manage that, you can pull the little metal pins out, and the remainder of the key should just fall out. The pins have to go back in order, so test

You can take the entire cylinder out. There are various ways that the cylinder connects to the steering column, but a dremel and an impact screwdriver is very handy for this. You'll see when you look
