- Good morning all: I bolted up a new inlet manifold on my SV to accomodate my new Weber. When I removed the original manifold, I noted on cylinder four only, there was a ring which fit into the inlet

- You should have had one of those on the number one & four inlets. Most cars don't have them anymore because of the many times the manifolds have come off. I think it's purpose was to stop any leaks

- Does nothing for any sealing, but not having them will cause flow turbulance due to the "step" in the runner that doesnt have the ring. Could cause #1 and #4 cyls to run different than 2 and 3. Jarr

- I thought they were for alignment during re-assembly, after the head gasket replacement / carburetor re-fitt and the manifold gasket replacement. Makes it easier all the way around, BUT if some don't
