- Mineral Spirits will soften the coating but not wash it off. Check out Miracle Paint in the Hemmings. It is great just don't get it on your hands. Is there a reason your are removing the undercoating

- When I did the underside of my Tiger, I used a 1000 watt hair blower to soften the mess and then scraped it with a putty knife and flat blade screwdriver for the tight spots. Worked real good. What

- One thing that works pretty well for removing rubberized gunk is dry ice. Put a bag of the stuff on top of whatever you're going to chip off, wait for it to cool, and chip away. Watch out for flying
