The only thing you want to use is brake fluid. (DOT 4 if that is what you are going to use) Never introduce a foreign petroleum product to your brake system! Remember...going is an option, stopping

I thought that people flushed the brake lines with de-natured (sp?) alcohol, and then blew them dry with compress air. Opinions? Bill Gilroy

You CERTAINLY wouldn't use a petroleum product like kerosene, in any case. I would think that methanol would be preferable to denatured ethanol, though. Paul

That sounds like a good idea. If you are disassembling the calipers, a final cleaning with alcohol and compressed air will leave a clean surface. Wet the components with brake fluid and assemble. The
