Well my Datsun Roadster motor is sicker than I thought, 20-35% leakdown #'s, most of it out the exhaust (bad rings). I overheated it last wknd out by blowing a H2O seal and finishing the last couple

I would think that leakage out the exhaust would indicate warped exhaust On a watercooled Supervee (14.3 to 1) I get about 4% leakage with the motor cold. I have never tried it like you should, with

out the exhaust? i'd vote for a valve job if the components are salvageable. overheating does (if severe enough) cause rings to loose their spring tension (the heat makes them relax a bit). why not j

First of all if the leakage is out the exhaust rings are likely not the prime culprit, it is exhaust valves. Leakage out the intake is intake valves, exhaust will be exhaust valves and out the breath
