All the rheostats I have changed (four) including those on my 73 and 75 MGBs have been of the printed circuit type, these burn out and are not repairable. It is the brightest end that burns out as th

The switch is probably just bad. Mine, a '77, was a little printed circuit board with tracings that gave more or less resistance. When I took it apparent, some/half/most of the tracings had come off

There is a spring loaded pin you must depress to remove the knob first. Then the chrome ring comes off and the rheostat will come out of the dash. (I didn't not disconnect my battery...) The shaft on
