- Back in "days-gone-by", the Government did not bother to regulate your life so much, and did not require manufacturer's to label brake service limits, or fine mechanics who would dare to turn a drum

- On the brake drum note....years ago I had Midas tell me that they would have to replace a rotor on a Volvo because turning it would make it thinner than their specs allowed. I went to a Volvo dealers

- Well I turned the drums on my bugeye so often that once one broke. Outer stayed stuck to the shoes and the inner keeped turning with the axle hub.Just a clean brake so to speak....no major dramas....
