Does anyone have an idea of how to either restore or refinish in some clean manner the small steel caps at the ends of my MGB turn signal and wiper levers? They're dull and appear like smooth rusted

Yes, the become a right mess after a time, don't they? The buttons can be pried out of the stocks and cleaned up first with some 400 or 600 wet-or-dry sandpaper, and then buffed to a chrome-like fin
