I used a flux cored mig without gas when I did my last rocker panel and fender/dogleg work..it was cheap and my first real welding work on bodywork in over 20 years. Gas does make for a much cleaner

If you can buy MIG, get MIG. It welds at lower temps and has amost no cleanup after you weld. Lower temps on thin metal will allow you to keep your temper and your cars rocker panels in one "peace".
