Its time for another mystery part quiz - hopefully this one is easy. I have an unattached section of wiring harness on my 65B. Fortunately I have my complete, very close to original 67BGT available f

Let me get this straight -- this is a picture of the 67? Because there is nothing resembling this relay in this position on my 66 roadster. Why are you assuming there should be one on your 65? -- Max

I'm fairly sure it belongs because - 1. The 67BGT appears to be a fairly low mileage (120k), original car. The harness goes there with wires connecting to both that part and another part below it (wi

It is for your OD unit, it is the relay? I think. I do know that if I do not have it hooked I do not have O/D. Did not find it in the Moss catalog supposed to be on page 82 but not there. Carl French

How odd. I know I put my 71 'bgt away only a month ago but I have my brake/Clutch master cylinders there...that relay is on my (looking into the bonnet) left hand fender. Ian :-) have a

I was paging through Clausager, and they do show that relay on a '62 B w/ OD (pg. 59 if u have the book). They show the same area on a '64 w/o OD (pg. 61), and there is no relay there. So my bet wou

If that is a five terminal relay, I'd be inclined to believe it's your starter relay. Is one of the wires 'white with a red stripe'? That is the activation wire for the relay. .... no reference mater

The round thing with the hose on the '65 is indeed an O/D vacuum switch. Delays O/D switching under certain throttle / vaccum conditions. The other one is an O/D electrical relay. Moss Motors lists

Had a quick look today and you are right...it is the starter relay....I had to jump my car when (I thought) my switch broke....but that doesn't explain why it is on the (looking into the bonnet) fir
