I've got a 71 TR6 that has a screw on oil filter. What is the correct filter to use? I got an extra filter when I bought the car, but it is substantially different from the one currently on the car.

Just purchased one myself and did a little legwork on the filters. The recommended filter for the adapter ( or so says my parts supplier) is manufactured by Crossland filters out of the U. K. Their

IMO I think it's called modern technology. Makes sense to me that the spin-on would do a better filtering job. I still use the cannister in my TR4 but am careful to change oil more frequently than I

Beats me -- I bought a spin-on adapter from TRF and they supplied me with a sheet that says to use Fram PH2825 or similar filter. Actually, the filter they supplied is Crossland T26M6 (TRF # GFE148).
