Unless you know that you are having difficulties with the electrical temp gauge, I'd leave it alone. They seem to be pretty reliable. You can test its calibration easily, with sufficient accuracy for

My gripe is that the engine boils over when the needle is just touching the N, typically it runs a bit more than half way from C to N. I would just like a specific number if it could be done to match

Even if the gauge is reading low, you have a much bigger problem causing the boiling. My V8 has been in the red and not boiled. the /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Archives at ht

Yep, your gauge is not giving you the information you want. I don't know, though perhaps someone does, if the temp gauge can be adjusted as the fuel gauge can be. Other ideas--have you experimented

The only time it has ever boiled was when I had a heater hose crack. I would just like to know the real numbers that I am running at. james the /// or try http://www.team.net/cgi-bin/majorcool /// Ar

Since fuel gauge works fine, you know the voltage stabiliser is OK. I would try a new sending unit, since it's easier to change that than to chase wiring. Bob On Thu, 23 May 2002 19:36:41 -0600 "jam
