Assuming your talking about a B, if I remember that's what you have. The trans oil is the SAME as the motor Oil, 20W50, as stated in every manual and confirmed before by the wisdom of the list. Dan

In the Transmission, MG recommends the use of engine oil, the same grade as in the engine sump. Usually 20W50 Castrol. If you have an overdrive tranny, the hypoid oil can cause erratic operation of

Henrique....There would be very little difference in 75W90 and 80W90 gear oil. BUT WHATEVER YOU DO.......DON'T put it in your MGB gearbox. The gearbox in an MGB takes ENGINE OIL. In mine I use Castro

I think the confusion on this issue stems from the (not-quite-so) ubiquitous Chilton's MGB manual. For some reason, it states to use gear oil in the gearbox--going against every other published guide
