Hello spridgets, here's a theoretical question... do the timing marks work for #3 cylinder? that is, can i hook up a timing light to #3 plug wire and use IT to time the engine? -- Best regards, Bill

Given a 1-3-4-2 firing order (IIRC), I'd think you could use the #4 plug to time the engine. It would be 360 degrees out from #1, so the strobe should light the timing marks at the right spot. Oh, wa

Just line up the timing marks, and then make your own marks anyplace you can see them easily.

Here's something cool to do with a timing light. Hook it up to the coil wire, so that it flashes for all four plugs, and shine it in the carb throat. You can see the fuel coming out of the main jet.

Here is also something I found with the timing light. Hook it up to the steering wheel and when you press the gas pedal up and down aim the light at the pedal. You can see the pedal going up and down

Tape the timing light trigger, let the engine idle, put on a Jefferson Airplane tape, turn off all the lights, and dance around the garage naked until you're almost ready to pass out from the carbon
