Has anyone had a tap installed in their radiator? I have noticed several of my Bs have had radiators without taps, particularly 70s models. My 67BGT and former 65B both had nice taps on the bottom of

I had the radiator in my 72 repaired when it was only a couple of years old and had the radiator shop put in a tap. It on the inside bottom on the driver's (left) side. It sure comes in handy for re

I assumed ALL radiators had drains. But some may have mere plugs instead of the rather quaint brass tap. You should be able to just remove the plug and substitute a generic drain tap from the parts s

I bought a "refound" 76'B in '98. One of the first repairs was the radiator. I took it to a local shop for an exorcism. While there I asked if a tap could be put in it since there was no tap present

Pretty pointless, especially when the tap gunges up or the plug turns the bottom out of your rad. Unless you get the engine warm and use the pressure to blow the coolant out it takes ages to gravity

That just seems crazy to me... How are you supposed to drain it? Just removing the lower hose leaves lots of coolant in place. I can't believe they didn't have tapped holes from the factory (not nece

I've used a pressure tester to pump out the non-drainable coolant. Works Steve

My 72B did not have a drain cock and I bought it new. I had a drain cock put in at a radiator shop when I had the top resoldered in 1974 or so. It's been a bit long to remember exactly when that was

How so? The bottom hose outlet is right at the bottom on both of mine. It gets out as much from the engine etc. as a drain tap would, and at most will leave 3/16" or so in the bottom of the rad which

The bottom hose connection on my '69's rad curves up several inches, leaves lots of coolant in the bottom. Even at 3/16" left, that's where the sludge gathers. Same reason the drain plug for the oil
