Hello Phil, I am still struggling with mine. My roll pin also sheared and came out in three pieces. It apparently chewed up the carrier casting as no amount of banging will drive the pinion pin out.

I got mine changed last night. While knocking my pinion pin out it wanted to hang. However, I just gradually bumped it on through. Be careful not to knock it too far through or the cage won't rotate.
