- The should be a clamp around the base of the distributor that is held to the block with two bolts. Remove these two bolts to remove the distributor and clamp plate as a single unit, slacken the clamp

- 1. Remove two set screws holding distributor clamp plate to the block (you can remove the pinch bolt first and take the unit out of the clamp plate first, if you like). 2. Remove the retaining screw

- If you have it off anyway, the long bolt for the tappet chest cover is recommended in one of the manuals.
