I have recently purchased a 71 TR6 and the interior and dash will have to be redone. I am toying with the idea removing the steering wheel lock and moving the ignition key to Center Switch Plinth 5 h

I'll concede that the location of the typical Triumph ignition lock isn't ideal, but I rather like the extra five seconds' worth of anti-theft protection it provides.** --Andy Mace **Any ne'er-do-wel

But did you try just grabbing the wheel firmly and yanking it sharply ? I haven't, but supposedly this works on most cars of the era, and the column lock on my Stag doesn't look strong enough to res

Never had that kind of upper body/arm strength myself. ;-) Of course, the Stag might be somewhat different than the Herald/Spitfire-sourced TR6 column and lock setup? On most Spitfires and GT6s of th

Could well be, I've never seen the Herald/Spit setup. On the Stag, the bolt is only about 1/2" long, and the housing it rides in appears to be ordinary soft 'pot' metal. Where the bolt engages the c

Hi Don My only thought on this is. Why? Would this not just be making a desirable car easier to obtain! Yes I know the standard column lock is not the best deterrent but it would void insurance here
